Wow, so much time has passed, and it’s been far too long since we’ve gotten a chance to really chat about all the things of our world here at BesTies. Seriously, a year has come and gone in the blink of an eye and we’re now approaching the very end of 2025. The fourth quarter is literally upon us, and this is the final push to make some things happen and get ourselves in full alignment before closing out the year. It’s only right that we get our minds focused on the things that are truly important. There is nothing more vital than to create and embrace an attitude of gratitude to help bring it altogether. When you ponder the months of this passed year, can you honestly say that gratitude has been an active and daily part of your life? If not, this is your perfect opportunity to get it started so you can finish strongly down the final stretch. We are in the Season of Gratitude, and it is our time to look back at just how blessed we have been. It’s a chance to acknowledge everything and everyone who has been a part of our journey.
Gratitude can be defined as the feeling or quality of being thankful and appreciative. It’s the recognition of goodness, kindness or positive experiences often accompanied by a desire to return kindness or express thanks. The depth of gratitude extends both to attitude and the practice of acknowledging and appreciating what you have, what you receive and the people who contribute to your overall wellbeing. Gratitude can be simple if we allow it to be a constant and consistent part of our everyday lives. Let’s talk about some great ways that we can express it. However, let’s get creative with the ideas to pass along to show our gratitude.
- Verbal and written expressive ways are natural to most as in a thank you, a text, a toast, a prayer, writing a note or even giving a smile in passing.
- We could start a gratitude jar where you drop notes of appreciation.
- Volunteer for a cause in honor of someone you appreciate.
- Donate some clothing or household items to an organization.
- Create a photo album or collage of memories to give to someone that you love.
- Make or give a small handmade gift for a friend.
- Offer gratitude before meals to give thanks to God for all that you have been blessed with in your life.
- Practice mindful walking, thanking the ground beneath you.
- Speak affirmations into your experience like I am thankful for waking up today.
- Carry a smooth stone in your pocket and each time you touch it, silently give thanks.
- Curate songs that remind you of people or moments that you cherish and share it with them.
- Light a candle for someone and express your gratitude as it burns.
- Visualize light or energy flowing from your heart towards the person or blessing that you appreciate.
- Wear a bracelet and dedicate each bead to something or someone you’re thankful for.
- Stand under the moon and thank it for reflecting light and darkness.
- Release our gratitude to the sky as if offering it back to the universe.
- Of course, we must remind you that The BesTies 1155 Presents the Gratitude Journal is also a perfect opportunity to express your appreciation for all the things in a written way.
The season of gratitude is here, and we must make the effort daily to express it to ourselves and to others in every way possible. Use these ideas to create gratitude in a magnificent way while nourishing your soul and replenishing your spirit with love. Living in a state of gratitude allows your heart to feel complete and your spirit to be fulfilled. The more we are grateful for all the things, the more we will be blessed to receive, and the cycle will continue. We flourish when we can give thanks, praise and honor those who have been in our corner and rally to appreciate the minor victories that bring us peace. In essence gratitude is the bridge between what you have and the joy of recognizing it through emotional, mental, spiritual and practical ways. Let’s face it, a bridge is a genius structure to help support keeping us connected. So, connect, give thanks, laugh, cry, hug, support and enjoy this season of gratitude as we finish off 2025 by being better versions of ourselves and living out loud with purpose!
